Parit Malintang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Regent of Padang Pariaman District, West Sumatra, Ali Mukhni said that Directorate General of Railways at Ministry of Transportation seeks to build a railroad from Nareh, Pariaman Municipality to Limau River, in the local area this year.
"Even Mr Zulfikri has surveyed the tracks," he said in here on Tuesday (May 22).
It was revealed from the discussion of Director General of Railways in related ministry, Zulfikri with Regent of Padang Pariaman, Ali Mukhni while attending the inauguration of Minangkabau International Airport railway Monday (May 21).
He said that with the construction of the rail, it helps people to get easy and cheap transportation.
"Therefore, the construction of the rail must be done immediately and needed support from local residents," he remarked.
He appealed to residents who build buildings on the land of PT KAI, especially the route that will pass through the Nareh-Sungai Limau to dismantle the building. (cha)
