Solok, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Government of Solok Municipality, West Sumatra targeted 2018 Local Revenue of Rp49 billion or increased Rp4 billion from 2017 which only Rp45 billion.

"We are optimistic that the 2018 target will be realized because the revenue from tax sector in 2017 exceeds the target," Head of Financial Agency of Solok, Harlidiliryo represented by Revenue Chief Susi Sofianti Saidani stated in Solok on Tuesday.

She said the tax realization in 2017 reached 121.29 percent, this year the target is likely to be improved.

Then it will also intensify levies to tax objects, and explore new tax potentials.

"Because the tax is forced, so it will be maximized on tax revenue, while the levy is less possible because there must be a service," he said.

He explained that the potential of tax in Solok is still limited, dominated by advertisement tax, restaurant, hotel, cost of Transfer of Right to Land or Building (PHTB), street lighting and others.

Another potential tax is if in the current year there is a new cafe or restaurant open, it will be recorded and monitored to the field as a new tax object.

"For the tax-levy shop is one percent of the income, the restaurant is 10 percent of the income," he said.

Constraints in tax revenues in the city of Solok because people are still less understood and aware of the obligation to pay taxes. Though later the tax will be used for development for the community as well. (cha)
