Lubukbasung (ANTARA) - Youth, Sports and Tourism Office of Agam Regency, W Sumatra asked village government to explore the potential of tourism object in the area to increase the community economy.
“Explore all the potential of tourism objects that exist, started from talent interest, natural beauty and other,” said the secretary of Youth, Sports and Tourism Office of Agam Regency, Subchan in Lubukbasung, on Tuesday.
He added tha the village government can develop the tourism objects by using village fund.
After that, village government established the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) in developing the tourism objects.
The Youth, Sports and Tourism Office of Agam provided coaching to Pokdarwis in order the tourism objects were develop well, so it can increase the local community economic.
Subchan appreciated the local Journalists' Association of Indonesia (PWI) program in exploring the potential of tourism objects in “nagari”or village.
That program is very helpful for local government because the existing of the tourism objects can be known by wide community.
Head of PWI Agam, Mursyidi added that the institution has run the program to explore the potential of tourism objects since one month ago.
The potential of tourism objects found were immediately exposed in each of the media of the PWI members and will be recorded.
“We come to “nagari” to looking for the tourism objects every Saturday and we cooporate with local government,” he said.
