Padang (ANTARA) - Puskesmas (health center) Andalas in East Padang Subdistrict, Padang City created Ayo Ceting (let's prevent stunting) application as an effort to decrease developmental disorders of children in Padang.

"This application utilizes technology advances, so, it can monitor the development of pregnant women until the age of birth of the first 1000 days," Padang City Mayor, Mahyeldi said in Padang on Thursday when socialized Ayo Ceting program.

He conveyed that this innovation was also included in the Top 99 National Synovic Public Service Innovation in 2020 which could also be applied in other public health centers in Padang, so that stunting prevention efforts could be maximized.

"On behalf of the Government of Padang, I encourage innovation in order to provide convenience for the community," he said.

He considered the Ayo Ceting program is an innovation that is easy to access and use by the community anytime and anywhere because it utilizes the application through WhatsApp.

Therefore, I support this application being replicated by other health centers in the city of Padang or in W Sumatra and other regions in Indonesia.

While the Head of the Padang City Health Office, Ferimulyani Hamid said, the Ayo Ceting innovation was appropriate for the COVID-19 pandemic as it is today to monitor the growth and development of infants, toddlers and also pregnant women.

He explained that through Ayo Ceting, everyone did not have to meet because there were already three programs in the application through WhatsApp, Nutrition House and Digital Education through applications that can be downloaded through Playstore.

"We also hope that Ayo Ceting program, which is included in the Top 99 Public Service Innovations, will be included in the Top 45 later. For that, the Mayor of Padang will present online on July 14, 2020," he explained.

The head of the Andalas Health Center Mela Aryati also revealed, this innovation was useful during the COVID-19 pandemic because it reduced direct interaction between patients and medical personnel.

"Just download it in the playstore, all the information needed by mothers / breastfeeding is in it. Starting from the guide to a healthy diet, a healthy lifestyle and others," he said

He said that mothers can also interact directly with doctors who are ready to answer complaints and questions, because this application is connected directly with the doctor's whatsapp number.
