Padang (ANTARA) - The government of Padang city, W Sumatera will be holding three major tourism events in 2020 to increase tourist visits to the area.
"The three events are Bakcang Ayam and Lamang Baluo Festival, the race of Sampan (canoe) and Padang Kuliner Run centered in Kota Tua area," said Mayor of Padang, Mahyeldi in Padang, Wednesday.
Mahyeldi hopes that three events held in April 2020 can increase tourism in the city of Padang.
He also asked the support of all parties and related stakeholders in order to maximize the event.
An estimated 10 thousand people from inside and outside of W Sumatra will attend the event, he said.
He also thanked to the Ministry of Tourism which continues to provide outstanding support for the city of Padang.
While the executive team of the Calendar of Event (CoE) 2019 Ministry of Tourism, Raseno Arya appreciated the government of Padang, which continues to move intensively to increase tourism sector.
"Three activities that will be held to provide entertainment for the community and is expected to provide many benefits for the tourism sector of Padang.
The pioneerr of the Tour de Singkarak event (TdS) said with the number of tourists to the city of Padang will automatically revive the economy in Padang city ranging from the hospitality sector, business actors and others.
"Hopefully this activity is going smoothly and as expected. For the opening of the activities will be done by Tourism Minister Wishnutama
