Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Secretary of the Region of Padang Municipality, West Sumatra, Asnel appealed to citizens to perform effective consumption and as needed during Ramadhan (fasting month) to Eid al-Fitr 1439 Hijriah.
"This is one of public participations to suppress inflation in the area during Ramadhan," he said in here, on Monday.
Effective consumption is suppressing the redundant needs such as shopping a lot for the needs of breaking the fast and eatting at dawn, but eventually discarded.
This needs to be heeded attention because people's habits are sometimes too euphoric when Ramadhan come, so people usually increase consumption during fasting than other month, especially at the beginning of Ramadhan and the end Eid al-Fitr.
Nevertheless, his party through Regional Inflation Control Team has conducted a coordination meeting to discuss such strategies during Ramadhan.
One of them ensures the availability of basic commodities is safe by encouraging the producers and distributors to maintain their supply. (cha)
