Simpang Empat, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Archive and Library Service of West Pasaman District, West Sumatra performs a mobile library service in order to increase community reading interest.
"The program is started in Jorong Nagari Baru Village, Ranah Batahan Sub-district," Head of Information and Communication Technology and Information Service of West Pasaman Archive and Library Office, Muharram stated in Simpang Empat, on Tuesday.
According to him, the interest of reading in community will be increasing if the facilities and infrastructures are sufficient. Actually, more than hundreds of students and communities attended the literacy stalls.
"It becomes one of the homework and challenges ahead for us to provide facilities and infrastructure for people in nagari (traditional village), especially isolated villages that still have not been touched by internet network," he explained.
He mentioned with the availability of 2,000 book collections with various titles, people can take the children to literacy stalls. It includes book of agriculture, literature, farming, plantation, fiction, fairy tales and so forth.
In general, the program of literary stalls will be continued to every existing nagari and placed in the sub-district office, nagari head office or jorong office that are easily accessible by community. (cha)
