Jakarta (ANTARA) - Andalas University (Unand) rose to position four beating the University of Indonesia (UI) and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) to assessment the performance of research in the last three years version of the Ministry of Technology Research/research agency and national innovation.

On the evaluation and classifying of higher education-based research performance issued per three years, this time Unand at 2016 was ranked 12th this time was ranked 4th. ITB, three years ago, came in three and this this time was ranked 5th.
Whereas the UI in 2016 was in the second place, now down to 12th place replacing the Unand position.
In addition to being the overall university ranking, he said, this rating will make it easier for the government to give national research assignments both suitable for five years and annual.
Meanwhile, deputy research and development development of Kemristek/BRIN Muhammad Dimyati said the leap of Unand was remarkable. The components that determine was the resources of researchers, research management, external or output, revenue generating are managed well .
Kemristek/BRIN counted from the number of research resources such as doctors, Rector or the greater teachers, and more. Consequently, thoroughly research facilities in college are getting better, and triggers other qualities, not only on research but to education to community devotion.
Based on a Kemristek analysis of verified data, there are 47 colleges that are in independent groups, 146 major group colleges, 479 madya group colleges, and as many as 1,308 foster group colleges.
The number of contributors to 1,977 colleges, increased from the period in 2013-2015 to only 1,447 college.
While the top 10 universities with the highest research performance, ranging from Gadjah Mada University, Bogor Institute of Agricultural, University of Diponegoro, Andalas University, Bandung Institute of Technology, Airlangga university, Hasanuddin University, Sepuluh November Institute of Technology and Udayana University
