Batusangkar, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Pariangan Tourism Village in Tanah Datar District, West Sumatra offers educational tours of the introduction of customs and culture of Minangkabau for every visitor through the program of Traditional School of Surau Culture.
Director of Nagari Tuo Pariangan Community, Irwandi in Batusangkar, said that everyone who are interested in following educational tours will follow the intensively program for at least one week.
"The shortest duration provided to recognize Minang customs and culture is for a week or it depends on the needs of participants who follow the program," he explained.
He mentioned the program is formed because of his concerns about the existence of Minang descendants.
In general, he explained that participants who follow the program will be taught all matters relating to customs and culture, such as about the tasks and functions of families in Minangkabau.
For oral literature participants, it will be taught relates to 'petatah petitih' and for the sport participants will be taught about silat. As for the arts, they will be taught some traditional arts such as saluang, dance and randai. (cha)
