Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of West Sumatra revealed the cause of cold weather in Padang Municipality and its surroundings due to the fact that the earth is faster and bigger releases heat received into the atmosphere at night. "On a sunny day, the earth will receive more solar heat radiation so the temperature feels higher," Head of Information and Observation of BMKG Ketaping, Padang Pariaman, Budi Samiadji stated while being contacted from Padang on Thursday. On the contrary, because there is no cloud, the earth will release heat to the atmosphere faster at night. From the results of the daily minimum mapping of temperature in West Sumatra on January 9, 2018, it recorded ranges from 17 to 21 degrees celsius, or a significant temperature decrease from previous range of 20 to 25 degrees celsius. Currently, daytime weather conditions in some parts of West Sumatra such as Padang and its surrounding climates are predominantly sunny cloudy and the growth of clouds during the day and night are insignificant. The low rainfall conditions in West Sumatra are due to low pressure areas or weather disturbances so that rain clouds are concentrated around low pressure areas. "The rain clouds in West Sumatra are also attracted to the South-East," he said. According to him, despite the weather down from two degrees from normal, but it is still in a reasonable condition or not so extreme so that it has not impact on human life. "We expect the cold temperatures to continue for the next three days," Budi said. He appealed to the public not to worry too much about it and not be affected by the issue of irresponsible sources.
