Payakumbuh is Intented To be W Sumatra Festival Icon

Payakumbuh, (Antara Sumbar) - The Government of Payakumbuh, West Sumatra is determined to make the area as an icon of festival in the province, because of its success organized a variety of festivals that attract visitors to the area.

"Payakumbuh Botuang Festival (PBF) is very successful, so the government together with the citizens agreed to make Payakumbuh as an icon of the festival in West Sumatra. It will bring various festivals in the city," Payakumbuh Deputy Mayor Erwin Yunaz stated in Payakumbuh on Monday.

According to him, the involvement of all parties is a great power to succeed the planned program.

After the program is successful, then it will make Payakumbuh as an icon of West Sumatra in the preservation of culture by giving birth to various kinds of cultural concepts to be built together.

The direction will focus on the original brand of Payakumbuh which is already discussed with the Organization of Regional Devices (OPD) related.

Head of West Sumatra Cultural Office represented by Head of UPTD Taman Budaya Muasri appreciates the cooperation of all parties so that Payakumbuh Botuang Festival (PBF) can be done.

"The success of the event can not be separated from the cooperation of all elements, we only facilitate and Payakumbuh Government as a supporter," he said.

Technically the festival is directly managed by artists who work together with the community so that the event is not "owned by red plate" or government, but belongs to all society.

With the community, it will grow the spirit of mutual cooperation and awaken the spirit of preservation of regional culture. (cha)
