Padang Panjang (ANTARA) - The Government of Padang Panjang City tried to revive tourism sector in the area by giving guarantees for the application of standard operating procedures (SOPs) according to the COVID-19 health protocol.
“We prepare the step to revive the tourism. The tourism SOP in accordance with the COVID-19 health protocol is assess can be an attraction by tourists to visit tourism object,” said theTourism Division Head of Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office, Medi Rosdian in Padang Panjang, on Saturday.
He said after the large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) until now in the new normal era, built the community trust to travel became a challenge for the region.
After PSBB, the community started to travelling from Padang to Bukittinggi or vice versa and also interzonal of W Sumatra, Riau, and Jambi.
“Therefore, Tourism SOP should be introduced to the community in order they feel safe to visit Padang Panjang,”he said.
He judged the culinary more interesting than other to make the tourists came to the City.
“Now, the important thing is to build tourists trust that Padang Panjang applIed the COVID-19 health protocol so that the tourists feel safe and enjoy for traveling.
He said, in Padang Panjang the tourists have started to visit although it is still a family tour not a visit that comes from a travel agency.
“Nevertheless,we still invite the tourism businesses to carry out a tourism simulation in the new normal to Padang Panjang to make this sector develop," he said.
