Head of the field of TMSBK, Ikbal in Bukittinggi, Thursday, said a pair of tigers were born on December 12, 2019 from the parent named Dara Jingga and the male Bancah.
The birth of the protected animal increases the number of Sumatran tigers in TMSBK which are five males and five females and the number of animal collections of more than 500.
Female parent and her children are placed in a small cage adjacent to the male parent. They were not placed in one cage room to avoid the possibility of aggressive behaviour of male parent.
For Dara Jingga, the birth of was the sixth time since inhabit TMSBK in 2013 ago.
Age of Dara Jingga and Bancah can not be estimated because they came to TMSBK as a deposit from the Natural Resources Conservation Hall (BKSDA) of W Sumatra, but it is thought to be still at a productive age.
The birth of a pair of Sumatran tigers was assessed to give their own happiness for the TMSBK because it showed that the conservation efforts of protected wildlife were successfully conducted.
Animal health officer at TMSBK, Dr Rizka Musnandar added the children of Tigers will be allowed to grow naturally lactation with its parent and human interactions to a minimum.
"It is to avoid mixed human aromas to tiger children that can result parents not wanting to approach their children," she said.
