Padang (ANTARA) - Priscilla Partana in a relatively young age of 23 years ventured to develop a chocolate business located at Alang Laweh, Padang, W Sumatra.

"This chocolate business is still new and first opened on Friday, October 8, 2019," said Priscilla, who owns the L'ile Chocolate Factory & Museum store in Padang on Thursday.

Priscilla will also develop it business with open a chocolate museum that provides a place for processing chocolate from cocoa beans to chocolate bars.

"The museum plan will be officially opened this year," she said, who has completed her studies in Britain and France.

She hopes after the Chocolate Museum officially opens later, it can be used as an educational media for chocolate lovers and visitors. Thus visitors can also see firsthand about processing chocolate from cocoa beans to chocolate bars.

She opened a chocolate business because her concern to see cocoa farmers in W Sumatra who had difficulty selling cocoa beans. Moreover there is no chocolate processing factory in Padang and finally itt was sold cheaply to exporters.

"Then I began to be interested in opening a chocolate business and dreamed to improve the welfare of chocolate farmers in W Sumatra," she said.

She began to learn about how to process chocolate from planting, caring, harvesting to the production process of cocoa seeds into chocolate bars.

Not only that, she also provided a pilot garden in Lubuk Minturun to get quality cocoa beans. So local farmers can learn about how to produce quality cocoa beans.

According to her, if the cocoa beans that processed had good quality, the chocolate flavor produced will also be of high quality. So it can compete with chocolate that comes from abroad.

She also mentioned that the chocolate that processed are cocoa beans from W Sumatra farmers, which are sold from IDR 40,000 to IDR 42,000 per bar.

"Chocolate flavors that are sold such as Rendang, Coconut, Coffe Bar, Chasew and Raisin, Peanut and Almond flavors," she said.

Then she also mentioned three other variations of chocolate flavor namely Dark Chocolate has 69 percent chocolate flavor, Milk Chocolate Single has 54 percent Chocolate flavor, and Milk Chocolate has 48 percent Chocolate flavor.

"In this cafe there are also chocolate drinks such as Cold chocolate sold Rp27,000 and Hot chocolate sold Rp22,000 ," she said.
