Pulau Punjung (ANTARA) - Dharmasraya Regency continues to seek Pamalayu Festival and Amanah Silek Pingian Pilgrimage to be included in the W Sumatra tourist calendar 2020.
The head of the Department of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, Sutan Taufik, on Punjung Island on Saturday, said he had been coordinated with the W Sumatra Tourism Office.
"These two activities will be entered this year even though the provincial government has released the 2020 tourist calendar," he said.
The local government said it was too late in proposing tourism activities, he said he was optimistic that the Dharmasraya Regency would be included in the 2020 W Sumatra tourism calendar.
According to him in addition to the Pamalayu Festival and the Amanah Alek Silek Pingian Sungai Dareh Pilgrimage there are still many people's parties that can be proposed to become routine tourist activities.
"Actually there are a lot of people's parties that can be used as routine tourism activities in Dharmasraya, this year we will data again besides the two activities that we propose to enter this year," he said.
Head of Tourism, Benny Mandala Putra added, whether or not Dharmasraya Regency is included in the 2020 W Sumatra tourism calendar will be known in the next few days.
"We have coordinated with the W Sumatra tourism office in this regard, we have also provided all the administrative requirements, hopefully we will get the certainty soon," he said.
Previously, the Head of the W Sumatra Tourism Office, Novrial, said that the tourism calendar had many benefits, one of which was to become a guide for tourism businesses in arranging tour packages to be sold as well as a guide for visiting destinations for tourists who came independently.
