Padang (ANTARA) - A week before Eid al-Fitr 1441 H, PLN Regional Main Unit (UIW) Office of W Sumatra through special officers, Right of Way (ROW) conduct cooperation to clean the electricity network from tree branches and banners that cause electrical interference.
This activity is one of the things that must be done because trees or kites that hit the electricity grid are one of the causes of power outages at this time. A fallen tree that hits the PLN network will automatically cause an outage. As revealed by Senior Distribution Manager of PLN UIW, W Sumatra, Arif Pramudya.
"The external disturbances such as trees or kites must be minimized through work together. We will do our best so that people can enjoy Eid peacefully and comfortably without interruption of power outages," Arif said.
Especially in WFH condition, household electricity consumption increased. So PLN is obliged to meet those electricity needs well.
"Electricity disruptions due to trees and branches can not be predicted, but if it happens will cause a power outage, PLN should do the recovery process that need a long time because they have to trace the location that cause the disturbance. For this reason, work together will be an effective preventive measure to minimize unplanned outages," Arif added.
The ROW Team is a special team formed by PLN to remove objects that have the potential to disrupt the continuity of the electricity network.
Currently the ROW team has carried out a field search to check the branches of trees near the PLN's electricity grid and pruning.
However, PLN also requested the willingness of tree owners to cut down their tree branches to maintain the security of electricity supply.
Besides aiming to secure electricity, pruning also needs to maintain the safety of the community and the environment around the electricity network from the threat of short circuit.
PLN expects cooperation from the community to allow officers to carry out routine pruning around the PLN network. Do not do it alone because it has the potential to cause danger.
