All land transportation prohibited from going in and out of W Sumatra from today

Padang (ANTARA) - All vehicles cannot enter and exit W Sumatra which implements Large Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) from April 24 to May 31, 2020 according to Permenhub (Transportation Ministry Regulation) Number PM 25 of 2020.

"The rules apply to land transportation starting today, then gradually to sea and air transportation as well. Only logistical transport vehicles, drugs and fuel can enter," said W Sumatra Transportation Agency Head Heri Nofiardi in Padang on Friday.

He said the prohibition on the use of land transportation facilities based on the Minister of Transportation's Regulation Number PM 25 of 2020 concerning Transportation Control During Eid Al-Fitr 1441 to prevent the Spread of COVID-19 applies to a number of conditions.

The condition aims to exit and / or enter the PSBB area, the red zone spreading corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19), and agglomeration that has been designated as a PSBB region.

land transportation that prohibited are public motorized vehicles, with the type of bus cars and passenger cars, individual motorized vehicles, with the types of passenger cars, bus cars, and motorbikes, crossing transport vessels, river and lake transportation vessels.

"Those who have already bought tickets of public bus enter or exit of W Sumatra can get a 100 percent refund," he said.

The prohibition is only exempted for vehicles led by high institutions of the Republic of Indonesia, operational service vehicles with Motor Vehicle Number of National Police and Army.

Heri said those who violated would be told to return. The rules were tightened from May 8, 2020. Those who violated will be subject to legal sanctions.
