Painan, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Government of South Pesisir District, West Sumatra will build nine semi modern markets in 2018, after developing four similar markets in the previous year. Head of Department of Cooperatives, MSMEs, Trade and Industry, Azral in Painan, Thursday, said the markets which will be built are Lunang Market in Lunang Sub-district, Tapan Market in Basa IV Balai Tapan Sub-district, Muakai Sakai Market in Indrapura Sub-district. Then, Balai Salasa and Labuhan Market in Ranah Pesisir Sub-district, Cupak Market in Lengayang Sub-district, Batang Kapas Market in Batang Kapas Sub-district, Lumpo Market in IV Jurai and Carocok Mandeh Market in Koto XI Tarusan Sub-district. He mentioned that the development costs of these markets ranged from the smallest Rp500 million to the largest Rp5 billion. Market development is intended for traders and buyers to comfortably transact in the sense that it is no longer muddy during the rainy season, the smell of garbage and other sting. With the condition, it is expected to increase transactions in the market and encourage the increasing prosperity of business actors there. It is also expected to emerge new jobs around the market such as the increasing number of traders, janitors, porters and others. Earlier in 2017, local district government built four markets including Koto Berapak Market in Bayang Sub-district with a budget of Rp2.7 billion, Painan Market with a budget of Rp600 million, Kambang Market with budget of Rp5.8 billion and Tapan Market with budget of Rp2.7 billion.
