Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - Micro Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) of West Sumatra, must master information technology, in addition to fix the product packaging in order to compete in the ASEAN market.
"In terms of products, especially crafts and culinary, SMEs of West Sumatra can certainly compete, just fix the packaging and application of information technology," Vice Governor of West Sumatra, Nasrul Abit stated in Padang, Monday.
He mentioned that when giving a speech in the activities of Strengthening Human Resource Competitiveness (HR) to Support the Development of SMEs Tourism in Order to Utilize the ASEAN Economy in Padang.
These two products can be a supporter of the region's growing tourism and become the focus of local government development.
"Tourism can not run alone, must be supported by various sectors, one of them is craft and culinary products from SMEs," he said.
In addition, SMEs should have the creativity to create a different product with other products outside of West Sumatra or other countries, in order to have competitiveness.
He mentioned the availability of manpower to support the development of MSMEs and tourism, especially those from Vocational High School (SMK) which is expected to be ready for school. (cha)
