Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - Vice Governor of West Sumatra, Nasrul Abit encourages traders who sell in the market to participate in the insurance program to anticipate the occurrence of disasters such as fires that affected 1.142 traders in Ateh Market, Bukittinggi.

"Now we do not know the total number of Ateh Market traders who are joining the insurance," he said in Padang, Tuesday.

He said it was related to the burning of Ateh Market shopping center, Bukittinggi, on Monday morning which devoured hundreds of store plots and resulted in more than a thousand traders affected.

If the merchant follows the insurance, they can claim the loss according to the type of insurance followed. At least, some of the losses can be resolved.

"The Ateh Market fire must be a lesson for traders," he added.

While the mayor of Bukittinggi, Ramlan Nurmatias said it also has not received valid information related to the number of traders in Ateh Market who have insurance.

However, Bukittinggi Municipality Government will help to facilitate the insurance that does not complicate the claim process.

One of the insurers that a trader can consider is fire insurance, which is insurance that guarantees property against damage or loss caused by fire, lightning, explosion, falling aircraft, and smoke guaranteed in Indonesian Standard Fire Insurance Policy (PSAKI).
