Investors in West Sumatra continue to grow amid COVID-19 pandemic

Padang (ANTARA) - The Indonesia Stock Exchange Representative in W Sumatra noted that amid the Corona Virus Disease pandemic (COVID-19) the number of investors investing in the capital market from W Sumatra continues to increase.

"Until the end of April 2020 the number of investors from W Sumatra residents has reached 18,304 SID," said the Head of the Indonesia Stock Exchange representative in W Sumatra, Early Saputra in Padang, Thursday.

According to him there are five regions in W Sumatra which is the growth of the new investors quite fast until April 2020.

He mentioned that in Padang there were 8,358 new SID, Tanah Datar District 1,621 SID, Agam Regency 1,121 SID, Bukittinggi City 980 SID and Solok City 938 SID.

While the transaction of the Padang investors up to April 2020 has reached Rp428.9 billion.

He saw the behavior of investors in W Sumatra in the transaction did not use complicated analysis.

"Investors just see how their company performs and then choose to buy stocks despite a price drop," he said.

Even when the stock prices down, but because the prospects and performance of the company are good, they keep to decide to buy because the opportunity to rise again is big, he said.

He invited investors and prospect investors to invest money in the capital market by paying attention to the company's performance, in fact that amid pandemic a number of stock experiencing price increases.

He said ownership of shares listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange created financial benefits for the shareholders.

Early added that the capital market could be one of the alternatives in developing economic development in Indonesia because of its presence is more growing and the company's need for capital can be realized through the capital market.
