Pariaman becomes the only city in West Sumatra carries waterfront city development concept

Pariaman (ANTARA) - Head of the W Sumatra Regional Settlement Infrastructure Office, Syafriyanti, said that Pariaman is the only city in the province that carried the concept of developing a waterfront city.

"the city that has a waterfront city concept is indeed in Pariaman," she said after the handover of the Talao Pauh Pariaman waterfront city in Pariaman on Thursday.

Although other areas in W Sumatra also organize rivers but they do not carried the concept of a waterfront city like in Pariaman.

She said the development of the Talao Pauh waterfront city concept was a proposal from the City Government of Pariaman to the Ministry of Public Works for Public Housing.

"Today the surrender of the waterfront city area to the City Government of Pariaman so it can be utilized," she said.

She hopes that after the handover the related parties can maintain the area so that it always looks clean and beautiful.

Meanwhile, Mayor of Pariaman Genius Umar said that his party would prepare regulations for the management of the area so that it could always bring in many visitors.

"We do this to provide comfort to visitors, including the cleanliness of this area. We also invite the village to participate in its management," he said.

He said this year he would also continue to develop the waterfront city area in the Batang Piaman river area from Muaro to Pauh.

He said the regional development came from the central government worth Rp16 billion.
