"Job fair is opened for free, held for two days, on January 6-7," said Dharmasraya Regent, Sutan Riska Tuanku Kerajaan, on Pulau Punjung, Monday.
He said the unemployment rate in the area reached thousands of people so it needed various programs and efforts to find work.
A job fair can reduce unemployment and accommodate thousands of workers in Dharmasraya, he continued.
"With the job fair, the recruitment and selection process runs more transparent and competitive," he said.
He hopes that companies participating in the job fair will not only accept applications, but also receive applications according to the required qualifications.
Acting Head of the Dharmasraya Manpower Office, Marten Yunus said the activity was carried out in commemoration of the 16th anniversary of Dharmasraya Regency.
He mentioned that the job fair was joined by 38 companies, 25 companies from outside Dharmasraya and 13 companies from Dharmasraya Regency.
He said the job fair had already been held for the second time. Based on the data, the number of companies participating in the job market has increased compared to last year with only 33 companies with 2,241 vacancies.
"The job fair starts at 09.00 a.m until 04.00 p.m taking place in the Auditorium of the local Regent's Office," he said.
