Lubukbasung (ANTARA) - The world's largest Rafflesia Tuan-mudae flower that blooms in Marambuang, Nagari Baringin, Palembayan District, Agam Regency, W Sumatra has received attention from the media in 32 countries spread across five continents.
Forest Ecosystem Controllers Agam Resort Natural Resources Conservation Center, Ade Putra in Lubukbasung, said on Sunday, 32 countries such as France, the United States, Britain, Saudi Arabia, China, Malaysia, Australia, Luxembourg, India, Vietnam, South Africa and others.
"News of the Rafflesia flower was published by the state news agency and local media. "Even the largest news agency in the world is reporting like, the Agence France-Presse (AFF) News Agency and including the Daily Mail," he said.
He said the media in 32 countries that reported on the Rafflesia were known from friends who were studying in England, informing that the news of the Rafflesia Tuan-Mudae in Agam was published by the media in that country.
Getting this information, he searched for the biggest bloom keywords: 'World's largest' flower in google search so, he finds news that is published in various media in the world even there is an unknown language.
"One by one I searched the media on Wikipedia and found the country of origin," he said.
Previously, there were reporters from Agence France-Presse (AFF) News Agency who contacted him on January 3.
But what made the flower news viral is from the LKBN Antara, because it was published from the first time it was found, blooming the first day and until the visit of W Sumatra Deputy Governor, Nasrul Abit.
"Firstly, the news published by Antara is related to the largest rafflesia flower in the world, much quoted or taken by major media in Indonesia," he said.
Based on measurement results, the flower has a diameter of 111 centimeters or the largest in the world and broke the largest record of the previous Rafflesia Tuan-mudae flower that bloomed at that location with a diameter of 107 centimeters in 2017.
The flower is the largest in the world and this is based on the results of research conducted by Rafflesia University Expert and Researcher Bengkulu University Dr. Agus Susatya.
