Several places that must be visited in Pariangan

Batusangkar (ANTARA) - Nagari Tuo Pariangan is one of the tourist destinations in Tanah Datar District, W Sumatra, which is visited by both local and foreign tourists.

Wali Nagari Pariangan April Khatib Saidi in Batusangkar on Thursday, said that tourists could visit several places including historical tourism, nature tourism, religious tourism and cultural tourism.

One of the famous historical attractions and must visit is the Kuburan Panjang tourist attraction. This grave has a length of approximately 25 meters.

The grave is located in Jorong Pariangan, not far from the entrance to the place.

According to April Khatib, the grave is the tomb of Datuk Tantejo Gurhano, who is the architect of the Rumah Gadang Minangkabau.

Beside that, historical attractions that must be visited are Batu Basurek and Batu Tigo Luak or commonly called the Batu Lantak Tigo.

Batu Basurek is a tourist destination located near from the Masjid Tua Minangkabau or Masjid Ishlah. The stone was written using Sanskrit and Palawa which contained the historical events of King Aditiawarman.

While Batu Tigo Luak is a rock that is also located around Masjid Tuo Minangkabau, this stone signifies the beginning of standing luak nan tigo. Luak Tanah Datar, Luhak Agam, Luak Limopuluah Kota.

"Batu Lantak Tigo is one of the areas that will be revitalized this year through a budget prepared by the Ministry of Public Works," he said.

Besides historical tourism, tourists can also enjoy natural attractions. Pariangan, known as the origin of the Minang people, does have a beauty with stunning natural scenery.

This scene can be seen from various directions in the area, including the panorama of the Puncak Mortil. There you can see rice paddies that are tiered on the edge of Mount Marapi.

Visitors can also enjoy traditional Kawa Daun drinks.

While for religious destinations, visitors can visit the Masjid Ishlah, known as the old Minangkabau mosque. On the courtyard of the mosque there are natural hot springs that are used by local people for daily needs.

There are also surau around the mosque which are places for recitation. Surau is also a gathering place for three schools, namely the Syatariah, Naqsabandiyah, Samaniah.

Other religious tourism that must be visited is the house of the birth of Sheikh Burhanuddin, the person who contributed to the development of Islam to the Minangkabau.

The house in the form of a rumah gadang is still well maintained complete with some of his relics such as clothes, sticks and others.

April said that there were actually around 29 tourist objects scattered in the Nagari Tuo Pariangan area, including community traditions and pacu jawi events and so on.

"However, to find out more about the community, you can go to Nagari Pariangan and see the beauty and scenery of the village directly," he said.
