Solok (ANTARA) - The Government of Solok Regency, W Sumatra is encouraging the village government to maximize the potential of natural and cultural tourism in its area such as holding various cultural events to attract tourist visits.
"The main of tourism is to bring as many visitors as possible, and it only happen if the village has its own uniqueness that makes people interested to see," said Head of the Solok Regency Tourism Office, Nasripul Romika in Arosuka, Friday.
For the development of tourism potential in the Solok Regency he will try to prepare facilities, increase the capacity of Human Resources (HR) such as the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), and an increase in supporting facilities such as restaurants, lodging and others.
"So the village government only needs to develop village tourism objects such as holding interesting and different cultural events for each villages. While the Tourism Office will help prepare facilities," he said.
The potential that can be developed are the richness of local culture, traditional arts, culinary specialties and natural scenery to bring tourists.
According to him, many traditional and cultural traditions in Solok Regency can be appointed as interesting events.
For example, in Nagari Paninggahan there was a Paninggahan Art Festival, in Nagari Cupak there was a SilekTuo Festival (old silat). Other Nagari can hold other events that are not the same, can be in the form of competitions, expos, and cultural events.
"Later this village event can be included in the Solok Regency event calendar to add the attractiveness of the area to bring tourists," he said.
For human resources is from Pokdarwis, the Tourism Office will provide socialization and briefing so that the community and Pokdarwis are ready to accept tourists when tourist visits are increasing.
