Padang (ANTARA) - Deputy Governor of W Sumatra, Nasrul Abit appreciated the W Sumatra Japanese Language Festival at Senior High School 5 Padang on Sunday because it was considered to be able to open up employment opportunities for local residents to Japan.

"Language is absolutely necessary to be able to work abroad. Mastering Japanese besides English can open up opportunities to work in the country, "he said in Padang on Sunday.

The festival can also be used as a study of Japanese culture, especially related to discipline and on time.

Positive culture must be adopted and practiced to encourage student progress in the future.

The festival was enlivened with a speech and handicraft competition typical of Japan.

During the event, the Field of Senior High School 5 Padang was changed to a nuance of Japanese culture, while the activity was also attended by several students from Japan wearing kimono clothes.

Nasrul Abit hoped that the event could also be a door for educational cooperation with related parties in Japan.

According to him, this could be possible because W Sumatra was quite a lot of sending formal labor to the country.

The competition and festival also invites students to be more intensive in learning Japanese because the language is also one of the international languages that is often used.

One participant, Ihsan, mentioned that he knew more about Japan through films, especially anime.

Following the Japanese Language Festival, he said, provided an interesting experience.
