Padang (ANTARA) - The Government of Padang City received the arrival of Experts from GIZ and the City of Hildesheim Germany which would arrange the Batang Arau River as a follow up to the collaboration with the City of Hildesheim.
The arrival of a team of experts from Germany to Padang on Wednesday, would conduct an early survey of the Experts for Municipal Partnership Worldwide Program (Solid Waste Management) on the Batang Arau River, from November 27 to December 1, 2019 as one form of cooperation items in the field of waste management.
The visiting team of experts was Project Manager at Experts for Municipal Partnership Worldwide (FKPW) Dorothee Wolf Program, Torsten Balck from Hildesheim, Consultant / Expert of GIZ Carsten Zehner and Malhdonal Anwar from GIZ Jakarta, which was received directly by Padang Deputy Mayor Hendri Septa.
"On behalf of the Government of the City of Padang, I welcome the visit of a team of experts from Germany," said Deputy Mayor of Padang Hendri Septa at the White House in Palanta, the Padang Mayor's Office.
Head of the Cooperation Division of the Padang City Secretariat Erwin said that this visit was a feedback from the proposal offered by the Padang City Government to the City Government of Hildesheim in the field of waste management.
"We propose about the management of the Batang Arau river waste whose proposal was submitted about three months ago and thank God it was approved by the German GIZ in collaboration with the City Government of Hildesheim," he said.
He said the arrival of experts team from Germany to look in detail and get closer and listen to information firsthand the Batang Arau River starting from upstream to downstream.
In the review, the expert team will look at the physical condition of all Batang Arau Rivers and the existing problems along with the handling efforts that will be provided, he said.
The Padang City Government has also coordinated with related parties including the Sumatra V River County Hall and Regional Housing Infrastructure Ministry of PUPR
"The aim is to focus on assistance that will be requested and agreed upon for technical and management assistance," he said.
