Painan, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Root Bridge (Jembatan Akar) which is a bridge made from tree roots in Nagari (traditional village) Puluik Puluik, IV Nagari Bayang Utara Sub-district, South Pesisir District, West Sumatra nominated the award of Indonesian Charm Grace (API) 2018 in the category of most popular unique tourist attraction.
"We got this information in writing from Ministry of Tourism and it proves that South Pesisir has a myriad of reliable tourist attractions," Head of Tourism Youth and Sport Office of South Pesisir, Mawardi Roska stated in here on Thursday.
For that, he invites community to provide support so that the tourist attraction of Root Bridge became the winner in API 2018.
In order to support this destination, people may type API (space) 16E and send it to 99386, or by downloading API app on smart phone then choose Root Bridge (Jembatan Akar). The support can be given from June 1 to October 31, 2018.
In addition to the Root Bridge, there are several attractions in West Sumatra which also became the nomination of API but with different categories, such as Rumah Gadang Panjang from South Solok nominated in the category of Most Popular History Site, Aia Aka from Bukittinggi nominated for Traditional Drink, Pare Cake (kue pare) from Pasaman District nominated for the Most Popular Traditional Food.
Then, Lawang Park from Agam is nominated for the Top Plains category, and Balai Kaliki from Payakumbuh is nominated for Most Popular Traditional Village. (cha)
