Pariaman, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Vice Governor of West Sumatra Province, Nasrul Abit encourages all districts and municipalities to participate in implementing and succeeding Green Indonesia program.

"Green Indonesia means that whatever we build must pay attention to the surrounding environment," he said in Pariaman, Sunday on the activities of Pertamina care for the environment.

He explained a concrete step that can be done by all parties such as some environmental damage in West Sumatra, due to human and natural acts must be addressed and done reforestation.

For example, he said the planting of mangrove seedlings, planting various kinds of trees, including the rescue of underwater ecosystems such as coral reef planting.

Then, he added, all districts and municipalities in West Sumatra Province must have Environmental Impact Analysis (EIA) documents so that all development has clear foundation, purpose and study.

"The goal is clear. It relates to the way of the government of society and all parties involved in building, not destroy the natural environment, Amdal document is one of the requirements that must be fulfilled," he explained.

Particularly in the City of Pariaman, he said the development is directly tangent to the environment which is also expected to pay attention to the issue.

Moreover, Pariaman City is one of the areas on the west coast that has natural ecosystems and turtle breeding. So it takes special attention in conducting a development and environmental assessment.

The West Sumatera Provincial Government also appreciated the Minangkabau Air Depot Filling (DPPU) who took care in helping the environment saving process in the area.

Operation Head of DPPU Minangkabau, Ridwan said that his company has made a number of efforts to save the environment through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds to several areas such as Pariaman.

It includes coral reef park development located in the waters of Pariaman, the construction of turtle breeding facilities and the construction of Mangrove Tracking or mangrove forest tracking path, he explained.

"Since 2017 approximately Rp1 billion budget has been disbursed by DPPU to the City of Pariaman through CSR funds. It is expected to help in saving the environment," he added. (cha)
