Painan (ANTARA) - The Production Forest Management Unit (KPHP) of Pesisir Selatan, the West Sumatra Provincial Forestry Service, built four units of tourist attractions in two villages in Pesisir Selatan Regency this year.

"In Nagari Lakitan Tengah, Lengayang Subdistrict, at Air Terjun Palano tourist attraction, we will build a hanging bike and waterfall climbing," said Head of KPHP Pesisir Selatan, Madrianto in Painan, Wednesday.

Next, in Nagari Pelangai Gadang, Ranah Pesisir District, his party will also build tourist attractions in the form of tree houses and suspension bridges.

In this activity, the West Sumatra Provincial Forestry Service through KPHP Pesisir Selatan has allocated a budget of IDR 375 million from the 2020 Regional Incentive Fund (DID).

"More than half of the West Sumatra Forest Service DID has been allocated to support activities, this is a form of our commitment to developing tourism in Pesisir Selatan," he added.

The tourist attractions will be managed by Nagari-Owned Enterprises (BUMNag) in each village through their business units.

With the operation of tourist attractions, his part is sure that visits to tourist objects will increase significantly, so that it will increase BUMNag income as managers.

Furthermore, it will also develop various businesses that have been initiated independently by the local community, such as culinary businesses, various rental businesses and others.

With the existence of a tourist areas especially in Lakitan Tengah, his party predicts that the number of tourist arrivals per week will reach at least 300 people, and the total for a month is 1,200 people.

Each tourist must pay an entrance ticket of IDR 5 thousand, which includes insurance, so the revenue from ticket sales reaches IDR 6 million.

Furthermore, if 480 tourists or 40 percent of the total visits per month try hanging bikes or waterfall climbing, the income will increase.

"If the vehicle rental is IDR.10 thousand for one try, then per month from this activity BUMNag will earn IDR.4.8 million in revenue, so that the total revenue per month reaches approximately IDR.10.8 million," he said.

In the future, his party will continue to monitor and provide assistance to the management of these two tourist objects, as well as help complete the facilities and infrastructure on that areas.
