West Sumatra Tourism begun to develop, SOPs for water tourism prepared

Padang (ANTARA) - Since the new normal, productive and safe order for COVID-19 was enforced in West Sumatra Province, several tourism destinations in W Sumatra have begun to open and begin to develop even though not all tourism objects were opened yet .

The W Sumatra Governor Irwan Prayitno conveyed that water tourism objects such as swimming pools and waterbooms actually can be opened, but it is still waiting for the SOP that is being prepared and agreed by the tourism department with a team of experts with the target next week was enforced.

"For tourism objects such as swimming pools, the tourism team and department are discussing how swimming trips are free from corona outbreaks. We hope that people who travel always implement health protocols," he said.

Irwan also invited the public to start enjoying tourism to relax a stressed mind during PSBB , but they still should folow the health protocols.

"To the regency / city and manager are expected to commit in implementing SOPs / protocols so that the spread of COVID-19 can be anticipated." he stressed.

The Governor also invited tourists to visit to enjoy the natural beauty, culinary, cultural and various forms of handicrafts.

The Head of the W Sumatra Tourism Office Novrial said the health protocol had been implemented according to the SOP developed by the Provincial and Regency / City Tourism Offices.

The health protocols were managers and visitors should wear masks, prepared the permanent handwashing place, thermo-gun temperature measurements, keep a distance, limit the number of visitors with land area, limit operating hours, health services and integrated supervision teams, he said.

Novrial also said that there were already many inter-city visitors, even from neighboring provinces such as Riau and North Sumatra to enjoy tourism objects, restaurants and stay in hotels available in W Sumatra.
