Padang Aro (ANTARA) - The Government of Solok Selatan Regency, W Sumatra, proposes assistance in installing free internet in two tourist locations to the Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI) Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020.
"There are 53 points on the proposed internet installation, two of them in tourist destinations namely Goa Batu Kapal and Tubing Ducati ," said Head of the Communication and Information Office of Solok Selatan, Syamsurizal, in Padang Aro, Monday.
Internet assistance will be very useful for tourism and cultural promotion tools in Solok Selatan.
He said, of the 53 internet proposals, for Pustu and senior high school there are 12 points each, and there are 27 points for junior high schools.
For internet access speeds of four to eight Mbps with a 500-800 meter beam range.
"The installation of VSAT Internet with the cost of one device is calculated starting from shipping Jakarta to installing around Rp. 75 million," he said.
Internet assistance has been obtained in the past two years by Solok Selatan.
In 2018, there were 13 internet assistance points for schools and health facilities and in 2019 there were four points at the tourist sites.
In 2019, the Solok Selatan tourist destination which is installed internet is Camintoran and three points in the area of Seribu Rumah Gadang .
Besides that, Muaralabuh's green open space also has free wifi which is the result of cooperation with Telkomsel.
