Investors are Interested on Palm Oil Processing in South Pesisir

Painan, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Two investors which carry out the management of palm oil fresh fruit bunches begin to explore cooperation with Government of South Pesisir District, West Sumatra, local officials said.

"The two investors are currently preparing the necessary documents," Head of the One Door Integrated Licensing Services Office of South Pesisir, Suardi stated in here on Thursday (May 31).

The investor plans to focus on managing fresh fruit bunches from the people's garden, so that by operating the two companies it is expected that the price of fresh fruit bunches will be more competitive.

"Currently the price of palm oil fresh fruit bunches in the area, especially the production of community gardens tend to be unstable, as currently only valued at Rp900 per kilogram. In the future, it can be more expensive and even cheaper," he explained.

According to him, with an area of more than 10,000 hectares of palm oil there, it is possible to operate six companies.

"Currently there are three palm oil companies which are operating, then two are still exploratory and the current condition is still possible to be entried by other investors," he pointed out.

In general, the government provides several facilities for investors such as freeing up services, speeding up permits and others.

"Of the 120 permits that are issued, there is only Building Permits that require other temporary charges which are free and it also applies to investors," he remarked. (cha)
