Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - The 2018 National Press Day (HPN) Committee in West Sumatra focuses on preparing transportation and participant lodges from all over Indonesia, as these two things often cause problems in the implementation of events nationwide.
"The results of the comparative study to areas that once hosted the HPN, the problems that often arise are transportation and lodging so that we anticipate it from the beginning," Head of Public Relations Bureau of West Sumatra Provincial Secretariat, Jasman stated in Padang, Tuesday.
He said it was related to preparations for the implementation of HPN in West Sumatra in February 2018.
Transportation problems according to him usually caused by the desire of participants who want to visit many locations of the event. The number of participants is estimated to reach 3,000 people while the fleet is limited to potentially a problem.
"We are looking for the best formula to provide transportation-related services," he said.
As for lodging, the problem that often arises is the lack of rooms until the participants must be moved from the planned place to another lodging.
It certainly makes the participants uncomfortable, especially if the alternative lodging place provided is not worth the place originally planned.
"We have also discussed it, but for Padang it seems that there is no problem because the number of inns and hotels are still sufficient for participants of 2018 HPN," he said.
West Sumatra PWI Chairman, Heranof reminded that transportation and lodging problems also occurred in the last implementation of HPN in Ambon.
The committee and West Sumatra provincial government, according to him, should learn from it so as not to repeat the same thing in 2018 HPN.
"It concerns West Sumatra self-esteem as well, because it must be prepared carefully," he added.
HPN in 2018 is divided into three time periods of Pre-HPN each beginning in September to December 2017 through various activities spread in each Organization of Regional Devices (OPD) in West Sumatra.
Then the week of HPN on February 1 to 8, 2018 will hold a lot of activities mostly focused on GOR Agus Salim.
The last, peak of HPN 2018 on February 9 which was planned to be attended by the President of Indonesia Joko Widodo. (cha)
