Payakumbuh, (Antara Sumbar) - Government of Payakumbuh, West Sumatra will hold "Payakumbuh Fashion Carnaval" to promote handicrafts weaving in the area.
Section Head (Kasi) of Tourism Promotion at the local Tourism and Youth Tourism Office (Disparpora), Dewi Novita when contacted in Payakumbuh, Wednesday, said the activity will be done to promote the weaving of handicrafts business in Balai Panjang.
The event will be held on October 31, 2017. As for the category there are two, namely children and adults.
While each participant is required to use fabric base material produced by Tenun Balai Panjang Payakumbuh.
"With the even, Payakumbuh loom should be more known at the level of archipelago and international," she said.
She said the weaving products origin of "Batiah City" has been recognized by consumers, especially since organized activities of "Payakumbuh Fashion Week" and promotion at the exhibition Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW).
The impact, in addition to be known by many people, especially for those who love fashion is also ogled fashion designers and fashion entrepreneurs.
According to the many enthusiasts and glimpsed fashion designers and fashion entrepreneurs, it has an impact on the welfare of craftsmen. (cha)
