Painan (ANTARA) - Tour de Singkarak (TdS) 2019 Race Stage IX from the start location in the Pesisir Selatan District, W Sumatra to the finish location in Padang City will pass through the Mandeh area on November 10, 2019.

"This route is the newest route since the Pesisir Selatan participated in the TdS event," said the local Head of Tourism, Youth, Tourism and Sports, Yohendro Nasti in Painan on Tuesday.

He revealed beforehand the TdS route passed through the main lane of the Sumatran causeway from Painan by pass the hills to the city of Padang.

However, because the ring road in the Mandeh area was completed, his party proposed the section as a race track and the proposal was accommodated by the implementing committee.

He revealed that through the Mandeh region, riders will enjoy two things at the same time ranging from the beauty of the sea to the challenging turns.

Road construction in the Mandeh area has received full support from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing.

In the period of 2015-2017, a 16-kilometer wide 6-meter road was completed, with a total budget of Rp.88.26 billion.

Furthermore, in 2018 the construction of a 25.08 kilometer road will be continued with three contracts. The first contract is the 13.03 kilometer Mandeh tourist access road work package with a contract value of Rp55.18 billion.

The second contract is the Mandeh tourism access road construction package (continued) along 12.05 Km with a value of Rp59.9 billion.

Next is the third contract, which is the work package for replacement, rehabilitation and periodic maintenance of the Mandeh tourist access road bridge for 12 bridges with a total length of 245 meters, valued at Rp 12.7 billion.
