Lubukbasung (ANTARA) - The Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) of Agam, W Sumatra found 26 distribution points of rare plant populations of Rafflesia Arnoldii and Rhizantes flowers in the forest at Lake Maninjau on Tuesday.

"This is based on data collection with the BKSDA team and the local community in Rimbo Sungai Jawuih, Jorong Lambah, Nagari Koto Gadang Anam Koto, Tanjungraya Subdistrict," said Forest Ecosystem Controlling of BKSDA Agam Ade Putra in Lubukbasung on Tuesday.

In 26 points of the flower distribution consist of six points of Rafflesia Arnoldii with perfect bloom conditions on the sixth day of one individual, and one more bloom on the first day and also four individuals are withered.

While Rhizantes, there are 20 points of population distribution with perfect bloom conditions, rot and in the form of knobs.

"The distance between the rare flower points is only a few meters. For the size of Rafflesia that blooms perfectly in the sixth day, 86.1 centimeters," he said.

He added, exploration would be carried out in the near future because there were still many other distributions.

In the future this location can be developed became a tourist destination, because the location is outside the Maninjau Nature Reserve and BKSDA is ready to work with the village government to develop it.

"We will assist in identifying the potential and attractions of nature tourism," he said.

Village Government will develop the location of became tourist destinations such as agro-tourism, adventurers and others.
