Muaro (ANTARA) - The candidates for da Uni at Sijunjung Regency were given briefings on traditional Minangkabau art from the leadership of the Sanggar Puti Junjung on Monday July 15.
The Chairperson of the Puti Junjung Studio, Ichsan Nasrul, who is also a staff member of the Sijunjung Communication and Information Agency, gave an introduction to the traditional art of talempong pacik to the candidates for Uda Uni of Sijunjung Regency in 2019.
The activity was held at one of the homestays at the Perkampungan Adat Nagari Sijunjung on Monday.
"This activity aims to introduce the Minang traditional arts well to candidates for the Uda Uni," Ikhsan explained.
He hopes that after this activity, it can preserve, and promote the traditional arts owned by the area nicknamed Lansek Manih .
"Traditional arts is one of the supporting factors in the development of tourism at Sijunjung Regency in the future," he added.
There were 10 male candidates and 10 female candidates for the debriefing, because they were able to qualify for the final round of the Sijunjung regency election this year, said Chairman of the Organizing Committee Pradiutama Juliyansa
He said those who escaped had high marks and managed to get rid of 40 people, who previously registered with the election committee as many as 60 people.
"With the traditional arts provided of Talempong Pacik, this is expected that finalists from the tourism ambassadors of Sijunjung Regency will know more and understand the regional musical instruments," he hoped.
