Padang Pariaman, (Antaranews Sumbar) - A total of 8,393 air travelers leave West Sumatra via Minangkabau International Airport (BIM) in Padang Pariaman on D+3 of Eid al-Fitr 1439 Hijriah or Tuesday (June 19).

"The number of travelers who departed has increased compared to the previous day which only 6,788 people who transported by 45 flights," Public Relations of PT Angkasa Pura II BIM Fendrick Sondra stated in here on Wednesday.

He predicted that the peak of reverse flow at BIM will occur on June 23, 2018 as the Eid holiday terminates.

But in general, the backflow has started to happen since the D+3 because the number of passengers who departed more than those who arrived, he said.

Total passengers who are departing from D+1 to D+3 reached 21,081 travelers, he noted.

While the number of travelers who arrived reached 7,849 people on H+3.

Compared to the same period in 2017, there was an increase of backflow 14.15 percent because in the last year the number of return travelers was only 6,859 people.

But he considered the flow of homecoming remains high because the difference between arriving and departing are not too far away.

He conveyed the movement of passengers at BIM on Eid this year is estimated to increase about 12 to 20 percent while the movement of aircraft about 5 to 10 percent.

"There are about 864 movements for aircraft and 152 thousand people for passengers ranging from D-7 to D+7," he added. (cha)
