Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Representative Office of Bank Indonesia of West Sumatra in cooperation with Department of Industry and Trade holds a cheap market in five locations.
"The commodities sold in the low-cost markets include strategic foodstuffs which are contributing to inflation in West Sumatra, especially rice, red chili, onion and others," Head of West Sumatra BI, Endy Dwi Tjahjono stated in here on Wednesday.
He detailed the low-cost market is held in the sub-district of Tanah Sirah Piai Nan XX Lubuk Begalung on May 22-23, in front of Mushalla Kalawi North Ulak Karang North Padang on May 24-25.
Then the parking lot of BI offices of West Sumatra in Sudirman Street on May 30-31, Balai Gadang Village, Koto Tangah Sub-District on May 30-31 and Kurao Pagang Village, Nanggalo Sub-district on June 7-8.
Endy ensured that commodities sold in low-priced markets are lower than prices in the regular market.
This condition occurs because the goods are taken directly from main distributor and Bulog. In other words, the distribution chain is shorter than regular market so that the price sold to community is also cheaper, he explained. (cha)
