Pariaman, (Antara Sumbar) - The City Government of Pariaman, West Sumatra plans to build a Bird Park in the area of Tangah Island, with a budget of up to Rp10 billion.

The budget is used extensively for various developments such as Bird Park and the development of surrounding attractions, Pariaman Mayor Mukhlis Rahman stated in Pariaman, Friday.

Government of Pariaman seeks help from West Sumatra Provincial Government and central government for the development of Tangah Island as the newest tourist attraction.

But, it begins by maximizing the local budget and is currently preparing the Detail Engineering Design (DED) development of Tangah Island.

Construction of the bird garden is a 32-meter-tall cage with a diameter of 72 meters, and it will be filled with various types of certain birds to support tourist visits level.

In addition, local government will also create lodging, culinary center, freshwater pool, salt and children's playground.

The development of Tangah Island, he said, is also supported by construction of Floating Docks of assistance from central government.

"The development of Tangah Island, is an anticipation of a lot of number of visits to the island of Angso Duo," he said.

PT Astal consultant Syafri Thalib said the development of Tangah Island is estimated to cost up to Rp10 billion.

The concept of the bird park development using the net so it will safe when exposed to storms and heavy rain.

Related to the lodging, the consultants offer the development with a minimalist concept. This is to avoid the large number of tree felling in the area.

"We will seek to reduce the logging of trees, as it will reduce the greening on Tangah Island which could have an impact on the environment balance," he added. (cha)
