Jakarta (ANTARA) - Citilink airlines focus on optimizing the fleet by serving cargo shipments for domestic and international routes following the temporary closure of regular flight operations and passenger charters in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"Citilink has fully operated cargo flights to help the logistics distribution process in various regions," Citilink President Director Juliandra said in a written statement on Monday.

Cargo delivery services are carried out through regular and charter cargo flights every day by connecting to various cities including Medan, Banjarmasin, Pontianak, Makassar.

In addition, with the specific schedules to the cities of Manado, Balikpapan, Batam, Pekanbaru, Surabaya, Denpasar, Padang, Palembang, Kupang and international routes to Singapore and cities in China.

The fleet used to transport cargo is an Airbus A320 type aircraft with a cargo capacity of 15 tons and Airbus A330 with a cargo capacity of 24 tons.

In order to maintain the cleanliness and sterilization of aircraft cabins, Citilink also disinfects the fleet that is used every day in accordance with applicable procedures.

"The disinfection process is carried out in the cabin area or compartment to ensure the cleanliness aspects of the aircraft so that the fleet remains hygienic when delivering logistics to various regions," said Juliandra.
