Payakumbuh (ANTARA) - Batang Agam normalization area in the Pinago River, West Payakumbuh District, Payakumbuh City, W Sumatra will be used as a new tourist and sports area.
"The area along Batang Agam has been visited by many people after the normalization and there is development in the area," said Acting Head of the Department of Tourism, Youth and Sports (Disparpora) of Payakumbuh City, Andiko Jumarel in Payakumbuh, Friday.
At present there are a number of construction of facilities that are still under construction which are planned to be completed in the near future.
"The development includes skate park, soccer stadium, sport center, parks and others, the work has been more than 95 percent," he said.
With this development it is hoped that this region will become a center for tourism and sports for the community.
He said that this location later could hold cultural events, arts and other events for entertainment for the community.
To add to the attractiveness and comfort at the location will be prepared a typical culinary center of Payakumbuh.
"Other facilities will continue to be added and refined as needed, he said.
After this region is developing and crowded in the future, it is hoped that the government can collect fees for Payakumbuh PAD ( Local Own-Source Revenue).
