Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The prices of basic needs in Raya Market Padang, West Sumatra are relatively stable at D-7 Eid 2018, Vice Governor Nasrul Abit stated in here on Friday.

"There is a slight increase for some commodities such as chicken, garlic and chili, but generally the prices are relatively stable," he said.

Chicken meat is sold at Rp36,500 per kilogram, up slightly from the previous day Rp34,750 per kilogram.

Garlic with medium size rose Rp1,000 to Rp19,000 per kilogram from the initial Rp18,000 per kilogram.

While the red curly chili is sold at Rp22,000 per kilogram or up Rp1,000 per kilogram from a few days earlier.

Besides, the prices for commodity such as rice, sugar, cooking oil and eggs did not rise.

The medium quality rice is sold at Rp13,750 per kilogram and the below quality rice is sold at Rp12,250 per kilogram. Then, premium sugar is sold at Rp16,750 per kilogram and local sugar Rp12,000 per kilogram.

Bulk cooking oil is priced at Rp11,000 per kilogram and branded cooking oil is Rp14,000 per kilogram.

Meanwhile, fresh chicken egg is sold Rp21,450 per kilogram.

"The price stability ahead of Eid has been maintained for the last three years, which has a positive impact on the controlled inflation rate," Nasrul Abit remarked.
