Padang Aro, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Cultural tourism becomes a tourism force in South Solok District, West Sumatra, so that art galleries will get such accommodation, local Deputy Regent Abdul Rahman said.
 
"The strength of our tourism is a cultural tourism so that the role of art gallery is very important and we will be able to further develop and support the progress of tourism," he said in Padang Aro on Wednesday.
 
He explained that local government create a folk feast featuring art galleries keenly in South Solok. These activities can be held on the anniversary of the district or on the day of Thousand of Gadang Houses Festival (Festival Saribu Rumah Gadang) and become an annual calendar in the area.
 
"Thousand of Gadang Houses that became famous must be equipped with traditional arts so as to increase tourist attraction," he said.
 
Meanwhile, Chairman of Beringin Sakti Small House Temple, Desrial said there is a long standing studio which had been proposed to be a legal entity and already has notarial deed and other licenses now.
 
"Now the art studio of South Solok has been able to compete nationally and it is proven achievement that is achieved on national standard event," he added. (cha)
