West Sumatra focuses to develop the Malaysian tourist market

Padang (ANTARA) - W Sumatera tourism office more serious to develop the Malaysian tourist market because of the potential increase in the number of visits from neighboring countries is still wide open.

"The most international tourist visit to W Sumatra is from Malaysia, reaching almost 80 percent. Now we try to offer some concepts that are expected to increase the visit, "said the head of the W Sumatra tourism office, Novrial in Padang, on Tuesday.

There are several concepts that are possible, but still need refinement and suggestions from all parties, one of them from the authority holders and businessmen in Malaysia.

Historical tourism related to Minangkabau descendants become one of the interesting concepts. Some Malaysians, especially in Negeri Sembilan, are Minangkabau descent.

The concept of sister province which allows cooperation between the two regions, including tourism can also be socialized again.

Then tourism education with the exchange of students can also be one of the concepts that can be developed.

Director of Tourism Malaysia Medan/Consul of tourism Consulate General of Malaysia, Hishamuddin Mustafa called his party ready to establish mutually beneficial cooperation with the W Sumatra.

He asked the local tourism office provides space to introduce the potential of tourism to tourism businesses and media in Malaysia by fam trip.

With conceptual exploration, W Sumatra could famous in Malaysia so that the number of tourists can increase to the W Sumatra. .

The target of foreign tourists visit to W Sumatra in 2019 is reached as many as 57,087 people and about 80 percent of that number is dominated by Malaysian tourists. *
