Pertamina invites the public to use fuel according to its purpose

Queue for trucks refueling diesel fuel at one of the gas stations in W Sumatra (Special)

Padang, (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Marketing Operation Region (MOR) I invites the people of W Sumatra to use fuel in accordance with its purpose to avoid long queues at gas station in the area.

PT Pertamina MOR I Communication & CSR Unit Manager, Roby Hervindo, in Padang on Thursday, said the long queue of trucks that occurred in the area was allegedly due to the rise in subsidized fuels consumption such as diesel fuel that was not suitable for its purpose.

He explained in the Presidential Regulation 191 2014 concerning the supply, distribution and retail sale prices of fuel oil which states that the transportation of plantation and mining products with more than six wheels is not permitted to use subsidized diesel fuel.

"The facts, we found that the subsidized diesel fuel queue is an industrial vehicle that violates the regulation and its impact makes the gas station lose stock and make a long queue because of empty diesel fuel," he said.

He gave an example of his observations at the Mata Air and Indarung gas stations, at the two gas stations, half of the vehicles that queued for subsidized diesel fuel were dump trucks or 10-wheeled plantation trucks.

He said he had reported this to the W Sumatra Provincial Government and it was agreed that in the future, plantation and mining vehicles could no longer consume subsidized fuel

According to him in a joint meeting with the We Sumatra Provincial Government, there was an agreement to avoid accumulation of diesel fuel, each gas station only allowed the purchase of subsidized fuel a maximum of 100 liters for each consumer.

He considered that if this agreement could be carried out in accordance with the plan, each gas station in W Sumatra could serve up to 12,500 vehicles per day.

He appealed to plantation and mining vehicle entrepreneurs to comply with Presidential Regulation 191 of 2014 by using industrial diesel which is already available at Pertamina's gas stations.

"It is intended that the car does not take the rations of consumers who are entitled to subsidized diesel fuel," he said. (*)
