Padang (ANTARA) - Two young men from Solok Regency, Wahyu and Yudha are trying to awaken the glory of Gunung Talang tea by creating organic tea that more healthy to drink
They collaborated with a Dutch non-governmental organization, SHGW Bio Tea Indonesia, to educate the community of tea plantation owners to produce organic tea.
The organic tea is given the brand Lugu'stea and currently has three tea variants namely organic black tea, white tea and organic green tea.
The organic tea is free of chemicals and contains higher antioxidants than ordinary tea even the tea pulp can be reused up to three times.
In addition, organic tea can prevent and reduce high blood pressure, prevent the emergence of high blood sugar levels, reduce cholesterol and many other benefits.
The smallest organic packaging of 125 grams of white tea is sold at prices starting at Rp 125 thausand and Black tea is sold starting from Rp 50 thausand for 75 gram package.
At present they admit they need government assistance to revive the glory of the Gunung Talang tea
"I hope the government can provide assistance with a tea dryer to speed up the production process and reduce production costs," Yudha said.
Deputy Governor of W Sumatra, Nasrul Abit enthusiastically welcomed young leaders who were full of innovation to move the economy in one region such as Wahyu and Yudha.
"The figures like Wahyu and Yudha should be an example for the young generation in W Sumatra to be able to utilize all the potential that exists to open up jobs," he said
He asked related agencies such as the Office of Cooperatives and SMEs and the Office of Trade and Industry to fully support businesses that are truly growing and can drive the economy of communities .
In addition to efforts to aid the tool, he want that the Solok organic tea could be brought in product exhibitions to other regional promotional activities, so that the market became wider.
