Batusangkar (ANTARA) - An international celebrity from the United Kingdom, Gordon Ramsay with National Geographic Channel are interested in documenting the uniqueness and culture of Tanah Datar, W Sumatra.
The Head of the Tanah Datar Youth and Sports Tourism Department, Abdul Hakim in Batusangkar on Wednesday, said that Gordon Ramsay, who is also a restaurant entrepreneur, would come with 30 American and Newzeland television broadcasting crew.
"Gordon Ramsay is planned to come together with 30 National Geographic Channel international television crews to Tanah Datar to make a documentary film on the cultural and culinary uniqueness of traditional Luhak Nan Tuo and Minangkabau," he said.
It is planned that Gordon Ramsay with National Geographic Channel will take pictures or videos for two days in Tanah Datar.
The shooting schedule was held on January 19, which would take a procession andeating togetherat Istano Basa Pagaruyung, then on January 20, shooting Pacu Jawi in Nagari Sungai Jambu.
In addition, Indonesian culinary expert who also mastered the art of European and Asian cuisine, William Wongso is also planned to be present.
He said the uniqueness of customs, cultural traditions and traditional culinary Luhak Nan Tuo Tanah Datar is an attraction for all people, not only in Indonesia but also abroad.
He hopes that the uniqueness will continue to be preserved by the local community, as well as the local government that always trying to raise and promote various events, one of them is the Minangkabau Enchantment Festival.
Meanwhile, Edi Susanto, Assistant for Economy and Development, said that to bring up regional ethnicities, they will also wear customary clothes that characterizes Tanah Datar Luhak Nan Tuo.
